Jitambue Project
The Jitambue Project is a youth empowerment initiative implemented by Anglican Church of Tanzania Diocese of Kagera in Ngara District, dedicated to equipping adolescents with accurate reproductive health information and essential life skills.
Since its launch in 2013, the project is helping thousands of young people make informed decisions, prevent early pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, promote gender equality and remain in school. Through its school based and community outreach programs, Jitambue creates safe spaces where young people can learn, ask questions and build confidence for healthy responsible futures.
To strengthen its impact, the project combines evidence based reproductive health education with practical support that enables students especially girls to fully participate in their education. Using an updated training curriculum, innovative teaching approaches and community engagement activities, Jitambue addresses key challenges affecting adolescent well being while promoting menstrual hygiene, respectful relationships and informed decision making.
The project continues to evolve to meet the growing needs of Ngara's expanding student population and contribute to healthier more empowered communities.
