Church and Community Mobilisation Programme
The Church and Community Mobilisation Programme (CCMP) of the Diocese of Kagera is dedicated to empowering communities through sustainable development initiatives. The Diocese has established a piggery project to promote self-reliance, generate income, and support vulnerable families. Through this programme, communities are encouraged to improve their livelihoods, strengthen food security, develop practical skills, and actively participate in social and economic transformation while demonstrating Christian stewardship and compassion.
The programme also promotes environmental conservation, responsible resource management, and collaboration with local communities, enabling households to achieve sustainable development while reflecting the Church's commitment to holistic mission and service,
The Diocese continues to expand the programme by encouraging innovation, agricultural productivity, and community participation. Through training, mentoring, and partnerships, CCMP equips individuals and groups with practical knowledge and resources to improve household incomes, strengthen resilience, and contribute to the overall well-being of society.
CCMP remains committed to building resilient and self-sustaining communities by integrating Christian values with practical development approaches. The programme works closely with church leaders, community groups, and development partners to identify local needs, implement sustainable projects, and promote inclusive participation. Through these efforts, the Diocese continues to foster hope, dignity, and lasting transformation among the people it serves.
